TAT-BMA Launch the “Lat Lor Long Krung” Water Tourism Route, Highlighting EV Taxi Boats by TTA Mariner to Promote Green Tourism

Bangkok, 4 February 2026 – TTA Mariner Company Limited (TMC), a subsidiary of Thoresen Thai Agencies Public Company Limited (TTA), in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), the Creative Economy Agency (CEA), public and private sector partners, and local community networks, has officially launched the “Lat Lor Long Krung” water tourism route along Banglamphu Canal-Ong Ang Canal. The initiative aims to enhance Bangkok’s cultural tourism through an environmentally friendly mode of travel.

The project features eight electric water taxis (EV Taxi Boats) operated by TTA Mariner, helping to reduce air and noise pollution in line with green tourism principles and sustainable development goals. It also creates a new tourism experience that seamlessly integrates local communities, cultural heritage, and waterways. The project is also part of a royal initiative guided by the royal philosophy of "Continuation, Preservation, and Extension,” which seeks to restore the quality of key waterways, revitalize urban communities, and improve the quality of life for the public.

The “Lat Lor Long Krung” route is designed as a journey that connects tourism, learning, and community life through travel by EV Taxi Boat. Along the route, visitors can experience a fresh perspective of Bangkok from the waterways, enjoy the scenery along both banks of Banglamphu Canal, and immerse themselves in the charm of Rattanakosin Island, while learning about the historical roles of canals, bridges, and fortresses that reflect the city’s evolution from past to present, under the concept of responsible and sustainable tourism.

In addition, the program features a special activity, “Banglamphu Special Trip - The Hidden Flow,” which creates a platform for young people in the community to step into the role of storytellers, sharing local narratives through real-life experiences and contemporary perspectives. Participants will hear stories from the “Banglamphu youth,” covering neighborhood history, ways of life, and small, often-overlooked details not found in conventional travel guides. The initiative advances tourism that generates social value while fostering the development and potential of the younger generation.

The “Lat Lor Long Krung” water tourism route will operate scheduled boat services and guided activities during Bangkok Design Week 2026, taking place from 29 January to 6 February 2026. Interested participants can find schedules and activity details at www.bangkokdesignweek.com or contact 1672 Travel Buddy for more information.
