Thoresen Shipping Collaborates with OVEC to Produce Merchant Marine Professionals to Serve Thailand’s Labor Market
Bangkok, Thailand – August 16, 2023: Thoresen & Company (Bangkok) Limited, the world’s leading Thai-owned shipping company under the brand name “Thoresen Shipping” led by Mr. Aekasit Hemawong (forth from right), Director Marine Operations, along with representatives from other 11 Vocational education training schools has recently signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the Development of Merchant Navy Professionals with Flying Officer Somporn Pandam (Center), Deputy Secretary-General of the Vocational Education Commission, the Office of the Vocational Education Commission.
Thoresen Shipping will join hands to develop the Dual Vocational Education Program in Merchant Marine Business and has a strong intention to produce students that have competence and meet skills needs in merchant marine professionals in shipping industry. In addition, Thoresen Shipping will offer students the opportunities to train on board the vessels and after graduation, they can be considered employed.
